Armenia (Հայաստանի Հանրապետություն, Hayastani Hanrapetut’yun), officially known as the Republic of Armenia, is a landlocked country located in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia. It shares borders with Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Turkey. The official language is Armenian. The capital and largest city is Yerevan.

On August 24th 1990 the Armenian Supreme Soviet re-adopted the current flag design that was originally used by the First Republic of Armenia between 1918-1922. Known as The Armenian Tricolor the design consists of three equal horizontal bands of red, blue, and apricot (pale orange).
