Ontario is the most populous province in Canada, located in east-central Canada between Quebec and Manitoba. It shares borders with the United States along the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River. It is known for its diverse geography, from vast forests and lakes in the north to farmland and major cities in the south.
The capital is Toronto, Canada’s largest city which is known for its skyline featuring the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere. The province is also home to Ottawa, the capital of Canada, located in eastern Ontario.
The flag of Ontario, adopted in 1965, is a red ensign featuring the Union Jack in the top left and the provincial shield on the right. The shield shows three golden maple leaves below the cross of St. George, symbolising Ontario’s British heritage and Canadian identity.
