India (Bhārat Gaṇarājya), officially known as the Republic of India, is a country located in South Asia. It shares land borders with Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. The official languages are Hindi and English. The capital is New Delhi, and the largest city is Mumbai. 

The Indian flag was adopted in July 1947. The design consists of a horizontal triband of saffron (orange), white, and dark green; the middle white band of the flag features a blue wheel with 24 spokes known as Dharma Chakra or “Wheel of Law”.

India’s national anthem is “Jana Gana Mana” (Thou Art the Ruler of the Minds of All People), and the national song is “Vande Mataram” (I Bow to Thee, Mother).
