North Korea, officially known as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, is a country located in East Asia. It shares borders with China, Russia, and South Korea. The official language is Korean. The capital and largest city is Pyongyang.

The flag of North Korea was adopted in July 1948. The design consists of two blue bands separated from a wide red central band by two thin white stripes. The red stripe features a five-pointed red star within a white circle offset towards the left hand hoist.
