Afghanistan, also known as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is a country of Southern Central Asia. It shares borders with Pakistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and China. Its official languages are Pashto and Dari Persian. Its capital and largest city is Kabul.

The Afghan flag was adopted in August 2021. The design consists of a plain white field with The Shahada in black Islamic Thuluth script.  An Islamic oath and creed, the Shahada reads: “I bear witness that there is no god but God, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God.”
