Switzerland, officially known as the Swiss Confederation, is a country located in Western Europe. It shares borders with Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Italy, and France. The official languages are German, French, Italian, and Romansh. The unofficial capital is Bern and the largest city is Zurich.

The Swiss flag was adopted in 1841. The flag is a square design with a white cross known as the Swiss or Federal Cross in the center of a red background.
