The Republic of Korea (ROK) (대한민국) (Daehan Minguk) is a country located in East Asia. It shares a border with North Korea. Its official languages are Korean, Pyojuneo and Korean Sign Language. The capital and largest city is Seoul.

The flag of South Korea known as Taegukgi or Taegeukgi features a red and blue taegeuk circle in the center, and four black trigrams on a white background. It was adopted in 1950 after the division of the country into north and south.
