The Gabonese Republic (République gabonaise) is a country on the west coast of Central Africa. It shares borders with Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon and the Republic of the Congo. Its official language is French. The capital and largest city is Libreville.
The current national flag of Gabon was adopted in August 1960 after independence from France was declared. The design features a tricolor of three horizontal bands in green, yellow and blue.
