The Republic of Namibia (Republiek van Namibië) ( Orepublika yaNamibia) is a country in Southern Africa. It shares borders with Zambia, Angola, Botswana and South Africa. Its official language is English, Recognised National languages include Afrikaans, German, Otjiherero, Khoekhoegowab, Oshiwambo, RuKwangali, Setswana and siLozi. The capital and largest city is Windhoek.
Also adopted after independence in March 1990, the Namibian flag features a white edged red diagonal band running from the bottom left to top right corner. A lower triangle of green fills the bottom right while a twelve pointed sun is in the upper left blue triangle.
