Liberia, officially known as the Republic of Liberia, is a country located in West Africa. It shares borders with Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, and Sierra Leone. The official languages are English and Liberian English. The capital and largest city is Monrovia.
Known as the Lone Star, the flag of Liberia which is similar to the US flag was adopted in August 1847. The design consists of eleven alternating red and white horizontal stripes. A five-pointed white star on a blue field is in the top left canton.
