The Republic of Kenya (Jamhuri ya Kenya) is a country in East Africa. It shares borders with South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Uganda and Tanzania. Its official languages are Swahili and English. The capital and largest city is Nairobi.

The flag of Kenya was adopted in December 1963. It features 3 horizontal bands of a horizontal black, a white-edged red band, and green. In the center two white crossed spears are behind a Maasai warrior shield in red, white, and black.
