Flag of Mexico

On 13th September Mexico commemorates Día de los Niños Héroes, which honors the sacrifice of six Mexican military cadets who were killed in 1847 defending Mexico City in the Battle of Chapultepec, a major battle of the Mexican–American War.

The flag of Mexico was adopted in September 1968. The design consists of a vertical tricolor of green, white, and red. In the center of the white strip is the country’s coat of arms which features an eagle holding a rattlesnake in its mouth, perched on a prickly pear cactus.
