American Samoa is an unincorporated territory of the United States located in the South Pacific Ocean, southeast of Samoa and northeast of New Zealand and Fiji. The official languages are English and Samoan, and the capital city is Pago Pago.
The flag was adopted in 1960. It features a blue field with a red bordered white triangle pointing from the hoist side. Inside the triangle is a bald eagle holding a war club and a fly-whisk which are traditional symbols of Samoan chiefs. The red, white, and blue symbolize the territory’s ties to the U.S.
Anthem: “Amerika Sāmoa”
