Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is an island country in the Caribbean which is located in the The West Indies is a subregion of North America. Its official language is English. The capital and largest city is Kingstown.

The flag of St Vincent and the Grenadines was adopted in October 1985. The design is a vertical tricolor of blue, gold (double width), and green. Three green diamonds representing the Grenadine Islands are arranged to form the letter “V” in the center of the flag. The nickname ‘The Gems’ comes from the country being known as “Gems of the Antilles” and “Jewels of the Caribbean”.
