The State of Israel (יִשְׂרָאֵל, Yīsrāʾēl; إِسْرَائِيل, ʾIsrāʾīl) is a country in Western Asia. It shares borders with Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Palestine. Its official language is Hebrew. The capital and largest city is Jerusalem.
The current Israeli national flag was adopted by the Zionist movement in 1897 and by the State of Israel in October 1948.The flag design features a Blue Star of David on a white background with two horizontal blue stripes at the top and bottom.
