The Hawkeye State

Iowa is a state located in the Midwestern region of the United States. It is bordered by Minnesota to the north, Wisconsin and Illinois to the east, Missouri to the south, and Nebraska and South Dakota to the west. The capital and largest city of Iowa is Des Moines.

The flag of Iowa consists of three vertical stripes. The blue stripe on the left represents loyalty, the white stripe symbolizes purity, and the red stripe on the right represents courage. In the center of the flag is the image of a bald eagle holding a blue streamer with the state motto, “Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain.”
