Wales, known as Cymru in the Welsh language, is a country which is part of the United Kingdom. It is bordered by England to the East. Its official languages are Welsh and English and its capital and largest city is Cardiff.

The flag of Wales (Y Ddraig Goch meaning ‘the red dragon’) was adopted in February 1959. The design consists of a large red dragon superimposed over two equal horizontal stripes of white and green.
