Flag of Sint Maarten, the Kingdom of Netherlands

Sint Maarten is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, located in the Caribbean Sea. Part of the Collectivity of Saint Martin, it occupies the southern half of the island, while the northern half is the French territory of Saint Martin. The official languages are Dutch and English. The capital is Philipsburg.

The flag adopted on June 13, 1985, features a top half of red, bottom half of blue and the hoist side has a white triangle containing the coat of arms. The coat of arms includes a pelican, a symbol of the island’s natural beauty, along with a courthouse and the motto “Semper Pro Grediens” (“Always Progressing”).
