Slovakia, officially known as the Slovak Republic (Slovenská republika), is a landlocked country located in Central Europe. It is bordered by Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east, Hungary to the south, Austria to the southwest, and the Czech Republic to the northwest. The official language is Slovak and the capital and largest city is Bratislava.
The Slovakian flag was adopted in September 1992. The design uses the Pan-Slavic colors and consists of three equal horizontal bands of white, blue, and red. Slovakia’s national coat of arms is featured offset toward the left hand hoist side.
