
The Turks and Caicos Islands are a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean, located southeast of the Bahamas and north of Haiti and Dominican Republic. The territory consists of two groups of tropical islands, the Turks Islands and the Caicos Islands, with Grand Turk as the capital. The official language is English.
The flag of the Turks and Caicos Islands, adopted in 1968 with the design updated in 1999, is a blue ensign with the Union Jack in the upper left corner and the territory’s coat of arms on the right. The emblem features a conch shell, a lobster, and a cactus, representing the islands’ natural environment The motto “He Hath Founded It Upon the Seas” appears on a scroll below.
