New Brunswick is one of Canada’s three Maritime provinces, located on the east coast and bordered by Quebec, Nova Scotia, and the U.S. state of Maine. It has coastlines along the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Bay of Fundy.

The capital is Fredericton, situated along the Saint John River and known for its historic architecture, Saint John, on the Bay of Fundy, is the province’s largest city by area and is known for having the world’s highest tidal range. Moncton is the largest city by population.

The province features a mix of Anglophone and Francophone communities and is the only officially bilingual province in Canada. It has a rural primary economy of forestry, mining, farming and fishing. Tourist Attractions include Fundy National Park, Hopewell Rocks and the Reversing Falls.

The flag of New Brunswick, adopted in 1965 features a gold lion on red, representing ties to the Duchy of Brunswick and British heritage. Below is galley ship on blue and white waves on a gold field to symbolize the province’s shipbuilding history.
