The Bailiwick of Guernsey is a self-governing British Crown Dependency located in the English Channel, near the coast of Normandy, France. The official language is English, with Guernésiais and Sercquiais also recognised . The capital and largest town is St. Peter Port.

The flag adopted on May 9, 1985, features a white field with a red cross of St. George, symbolizing its historical ties to England. Overlaid on the cross is a smaller golden cross, representing the allegiance to William the Conqueror and Guernsey’s Norman heritage.
