

British Columbia (BC) is Canada’s westernmost province. With the Pacific Ocean to the west and Rocky Mountains to the east, It shares borders with Alberta, the U.S. states of Alaska, Washington, Idaho and Montana, and the Yukon to the north.
The capital is Victoria, located on Vancouver Island known for its historic architecture and Parliament Buildings. Vancouver is the province’s largest city and most densely populated city in Canada, its attractions include Stanley Park and Vancouver Art Gallery.
British Columbia has an ethnically diverse population of over 5 million. The province is famous for its natural beauty, including popular tourist destinations like Whistler ski resort, the Okanagan Valley, and Pacific Rim National Park.
The flag of British Columbia, adopted in 1960, features a stylised setting sun over wavy blue and white lines symbolizing the Pacific Ocean. Above this is a version of the Union Jack with a crown at the center representing its ties to Britain.
