Flag of Bonaire

Bonaire is a special municipality of the Netherlands, located in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Venezuela. Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao form the ABC islands. The official languages are Dutch and Papiamento. The capital is the port of Kralendijk.

The flag of Bonaire, adopted in 1981, features a diagonal white and blue background separated by a yellow band. In the white section, there is a black compass with a red, six-pointed star, representing the island’s navigational heritage and the unity of its people. The blue symbolizes the sea, yellow represents the sun, and the white is the sky.

Anthem: “Tera di Solo y suave biento” (Land of the Sun and Soft Breeze)
