Haiti is a country located on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean Sea. It shares the island with the Dominican Republic to the east. The official languages are French and Haitian Creole. The capital city and largest city is Port-au-Prince.

The flag of Haiti was adopted in February 1986. The design consists of two equal horizontal bands of blue and red, with the Haiti Coat of Arms featured inside a white box at the center. The coat of arms features weapons representing defence of the county’s freedom and a royal palm, a symbol of independence.

The national anthem: “La Dessalinienne” (The Dessalines Song)
