Perth, Capital City of Western Australia

Western Australia (WA) occupies the entire western third of the Australian continent. It is bordered by the Indian Ocean to the west and north, South Australia and the Northern Territory to the east and the Southern Ocean to the south.

The capital is Perth, one of the most isolated major cities globally, located on the Swan River. Notable landmarks include Kings Park and Botanic Garden, Cottesloe Beach and the Western Australian Museum.

The flag of Western Australia, adopted in 1953, is a British Blue Ensign with a black swan facing the flagpole on a yellow disc, a symbol long associated with the state and the Swan River.
